Events generate waste in two short, intense bursts: packaging and offcuts during setup, and everything else during breakdown. Between those, the container mostly needs to be out of sight and out of the way of the public.
The hard constraint is almost always the handback deadline. Venues, parks and closed streets have a time by which the site must be clear, and a container still sitting there afterwards is a problem for whoever booked the space.

Placement away from the public
Position the container where crews reach it easily and the public does not: behind a service area, inside a back-of-house compound, or beyond a barrier line. An accessible container at a public event becomes a general dumping point within hours.
The truck still needs a clear approach at delivery and at collection, which on an event site means planning around barriers, staging, vehicle routes and whatever gets built between those two moments.
Setup and breakdown are different problems
Setup waste is bulky and clean — crates, pallets, packaging, cardboard, offcuts. Breakdown waste is mixed and arrives all at once. If the event is large enough, separate containers for the two phases usually work better than one container doing both.
